How to get rid of flies – A possible spiritual solution
There is a saying that ‘even the smallest insect may cause death by its bite’. The common housefly is found everywhere around the world and is known to carry serious diseases. Getting rid of flies and insects can be quite difficult. Yet in 2012, we have been privy to a phenomena unfolding at the Spiritual Science Research Centre that gets rid of flies naturally. What we have observed is when houseflies and other insects enter the room of H.H. Dr Athavale (Founder of the Maharshi University of Spirituality) and some other rooms at the Spiritual Research Centre and Ashram, their movement slows down within a short period of time and they are unable to fly. Thereafter, within a couple of hours they die. Considering that the life expectancy of the common housefly is generally between 15 to 30 days, it is quite intriguing that they don’t last for more than a few hours in H. H. Dr Athavale’s room.
What is also interesting is that when we saw the fly becoming sluggish in its movements, we took it out of H.H. Dr Athavale’s room to see the effect on the fly. We were surprised to see that it became active again. However, when inside the room it would remain inactive, so much so, that it would remain passive even when threatened with a stick.
We observed a different pattern of behaviour when butterflies entered H.H. Dr Athavale’s room. They appeared to be very comfortable and remained in the room for unusually long periods of time.
Additionally, during our research, in some instances when we came across swarms of insects and sprayed Holy water or Holy ash on them, we noticed that they immediately started to disperse.
The following pictures show the various snapshots of the phenomena. Each small picture in the slide show when clicked expands into a larger version of the same picture.
Insects dying spontaneously
The phenomenon is not just limited to houseflies, but to bees and bigger insects as well.
Insects dying spontaneously
Insects are dying in the Spiritual Research Centre and Ashram without any apparent reason. This phenomena was first observed in H. H. Dr Athavale's room where houseflies & many types of insects would die within a short time of entering His room.
Fly not moving despite prodding
If a fly enters H.H. Dr. Athavale’s room, it gets disoriented and does not respond to prodding.
Fly not moving despite prodding
Here, one of the members of our Spiritual Research team is seen prodding a fly that is walking around feebly in the room of H.H. Dr Athavale. The fly hardly responds to the prodding and seems disorientated.
No effect of prodding seen on fly
Even after being prodded with a stick, the fly did not respond to the threat.
No effect of prodding seen on fly
After entering H.H. Dr Athavale's room its movement slowed down substantially within about 10 mins. When we tried to prod with a stick, it behaved strangely and did not respond to the threat. After a while it rolled over and died.
Insects dying spontaneously
When a wasp entered H.H. Dr Athavale's room, it started making slower movements and died thereafter.
Insects dying spontaneously
We minutely observed a wasp which entered the room of H.H. Dr Athavale. Its movements slowed down within minutes of entering His room. As though it struggled to pull its weight and was staggering. Eventually it died on the window pane.
Dragonfly is found dead
A housefly accidently enterted H.H. Dr Athavale's room. After moving in circles for a while it died.
Dragonfly is found dead
Our research team studied a dragonfly as it made its way into H.H. Dr Athavale's room. It was moving in circle around the room and then it suddenly fell on the ground. After remaining like that for about 15 mins it died finally.
Many types of insects dying
Since 2012, flies and insects entering H. H. Dr Athavale’s room have died within a short time-span
Many types of insects dying
We observed that the phenomena was not merely limited to houseflies but extended to many other types of bigger insects as well. This was because, they were unable to bear the spiritual purity present in the the room of H.H. Dr Athavale.
Thousands of insects fill a passage
This is a photograph where insects filled the entire passage and would not move despite efforts.
Thousands of insects fill a passage
This photograph was taken in 2001 when thousands of insects swarmed an entire farmhouse. They filled up every part of the premises. The volume was so much that the inhabitants had to vacate the premises.
Swarms of insects found on a wall
Attack of negative energies in the form of thousands of insects swarming the walls of a farmhouse.
Swarms of insects found on a wall
Insects breed better in a Raja-Tama predominant or spiritually impure environment. Negative energies from the spiritual dimension also use insects to attack premises. In such cases, the pests are resilient and can withstand pest control measures.

Insects covering a picture
We observed that insects would invariably cover spiritually pure items. In this photograph, they are seen on a laminated picture of Deity Shriram. On the back side of the photograph, we found that insects had started eating into the lamination too.
Insects lined on Deity's Name-strip
Many insects were seen on Deity's Name strips stuck on the walls for purification of the premises.
Insects lined on Deity's Name-strip
Many insects were seen on the Deity's Name strips. Our research team confirmed further that as the Deity's Name-strips attract purity and spiritually pure vibrations into the premises, the insects attacked them.
Ritual for removal of insects
Since 2007, a ritual based on the Holy text Rugved was perfomed to overcome the attacks by insects.
Spiritual research showed that the surge of insects was due to negative energies. Pesticides failed; so the spiritual research team suggested sacrificial fires and a ritual based on Rugved. After the ritual was performed the insects stopped coming.
An Appeal to Scientists and Researchers
Many extraordinary incidents that do not have a straightforward rational explanation are taking place at the Spiritual Research Centre and Ashram in Goa, India. One such phenomenon is the unusually short lifespan of flies and other insects that find their way into the room of H.H. Dr Athavale. We appeal to scientists and researchers who are experts in this field to help us understand if there is a scientific reason behind these occurrences.
Why do houseflies and insects get disorientated and die in the room of H.H. Dr Athavale?
Why is there a difference in the behaviour of butterflies that come to the Spiritual Research Centre compared to the other types of insects like flies and moths?
Why do insects disperse when they are sprayed with Holy water or Holy ash? Is this a possible way to get rid of insect infestation?
Is there a difference between the flies that die ordinarily outside versus the flies that die in the room of H.H. Dr Athavale?
