Exploring the Relationship Between Dance Costumes and one’s Aura

What we wear often reflects our personality, preferences, and identity. But beyond appearance, clothing can also influence us at a subtle, spiritual level. MAV has conducted extensive research on how different garments affect the aura, and the visit of flamenco dancer Leticia Aravena offered a unique opportunity to study this further.

Leticia, Owner and Director of Leticia Aravena Dance and Movement Flamenco Classes, teaches flamenco technique and choreography to students of all ages and levels. Her presence at the Ashram created the ideal setting to explore how different garments impact one’s subtle energy.

Methodology

At the start of the experiment, Leticia was dressed in her regular clothes. She first changed into a sari, and her aura was measured using the Universal Aura Scanner (UAS) before and after wearing it. She then changed back into her normal clothing, and measurements were paused until her readings returned to baseline.

Next, Leticia wore a flamenco dress, and her aura was again measured before and after the outfit change.

Key Findings

Wearing the sari produced a notable shift in her subtle energy:

  • Negativity reduced by 38% in the IR reading and 44% in the UV reading.
  • Her positive aura increased by 42%.

In contrast, wearing the flamenco dress brought the opposite effect:

  • IR negativity increased by 14% and UV negativity by 37%.
  • Her positive aura decreased by 49%.

Conclusion

These results support MAV’s prior findings that the sari has a spiritually beneficial influence on a woman’s aura. The flamenco dress, however, showed a spiritually adverse effect. One possible explanation is that flamenco as a dance form is focused on enhancing the 5 senses, mind and intellect, while the purpose of dance at a spiritual level is to transcend them and experience God..

Together, these observations highlight how the clothing we choose can subtly uplift or reduce the positivity in one’s aura.
