Pandit Milind Tulankar, born in 1968, is an Indian classical musician and one of the foremost contemporary exponents of the jal tarang, a rare and ancient melodic percussion instrument of remarkable subtlety and precision. A versatile and accomplished artist, he is proficient not only in jal tarang but also in vocal music, santoor, harmonium, tabla and sitar, reflecting a comprehensive grounding in both melodic and rhythmic traditions of Indian classical music. Currently, Pandit Milind Tulankar serves as a music composer at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, where his work bridges classical sensibilities with contemporary creative expression.
