H.H. Keshav Ginde

Flute player

On 9 December 2018, the renowned flute player H.H. Keshav Ginde was felicitated for attaining the 75% spiritual level at his residence for his deep communion with God, humility and devotion.

His Holiness (H.H.) (Dr) Keshav Ginde of Pune is a renowned flautist, researcher, and innovator who transformed his lifelong devotion to music into a profound spiritual practice. Having reached the spiritual level of 75 %, he was felicitated on 9.12.2018 for attaining Sainthood, an honourable recognition of a life lived in humility, devotion, and pure dedication to God.

A revered artist in the world of Indian classical music, H.H. Ginde is known not only for his mastery over the flute but also for the sage-like radiance that shines through his art. As observed by Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale, when one looks into his eyes while he plays, one can feel his thoughtless state, a spiritual stillness born from deep inner communion. Such a personality is exceedingly rare in today’s times.

His pioneering research in flute design is both unparalleled and spiritually significant. Through decades of experimentation, he developed the Keshav Venu, a flute whose tones remain seamlessly connected, unlike ordinary flutes, where a subtle fracture exists between notes. This is due to the Keshav Venu (flute) having 12 holes as compared to the traditional flute, which has 6 holes. The Keshav Venu makes it possible to experience the divine principle that resides between two tones, allowing listeners to feel an unbroken stream of subtle spiritual vibrations. This discovery, registered in three world records, is regarded by H.H. Ginde not as an achievement of his own skill but as a gift flowing entirely through the grace of God.

Throughout his life, he has walked the path of devotion, seeing music as a form of sadhana. With deep love for Shri Krishna and unwavering reverence for his Guru, he has expressed a heartfelt longing to have the darshan of Lord Dattatreya in this very lifetime. His life is adorned with qualities of humility, egolessness, and immense love, traits he believes are essential for Divine sound to emerge through the flute.

Through H.H. (Dr.) Keshav Ginde, the spiritual path and the musical path merge beautifully, revealing the Divine essence that music can awaken when played with absolute devotion.
