Mrs Sonia Atul Parchure is an accomplished Kathak dancer from Thane, presently residing in Dadar, Mumbai. Her journey in the world of classical dance began with Bharatanatyam training under the guidance of Mrs Poonam Murdeshwar and later flourished in Kathak under the guidance of Mrs Manjiri Dev in Thane. She continues to refine her mastery of tala (rhythm) and laya (tempo) under the guidance of the legendary Taal Yogi Pandit Suresh Talwalkar in Pune. She holds a degree titled Alankar in dance and has presented several captivating solo Kathak performances across India. Mrs Sonia Parchure is an empanelled artist with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), an organisation of the Government of India that fosters India’s cultural relations and artistic exchange with nations across the world.
Mrs Sonia Parchure visited Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalaya for three days, during which various research-oriented Kathak experiments were conducted. She shared that the Ashram’s atmosphere deepened her spiritual emotion and spiritual state each day, and after her final performance she experienced a heightened inner awareness, describing the place as sacred and filled with positive vibrations, and expressed her willingness to continue contributing to this work in the future.
